Your guide to safe and reliable subsea operations
The RUD ACP-TURNADO OCEANSTAR is a lifting point specifically designed for maritime and subsea operations. It is intended for applications including offshore wind farms, drilling platforms, shipyards, subsea construction projects and associated supply operations. It is available in thread sizes M8 to M30, with working load limits (WLL) from 0.5 to 8 tonnes.
Yes. The ACP-TURNADO OCEANSTAR is the first lifting point certified by DNV for subsea applications, in accordance with DNV ST-0377 and DNV ST-0378. This certification makes it suitable for approved lifting operations in underwater and offshore environments.
The ACP-TURNADO OCEANSTAR features a special spring mechanism that automatically keeps the lift bail aligned with the direction of force, helping to prevent sudden shock loads. Its WLL is also up to 30% higher than conventional lifting points of a similar design. For protection against corrosion and material degradation, its components have a zinc flake coating providing at least 720 hours of salt spray resistance, while component hardness of ≤38 HRC helps protect against hydrogen embrittlement. The gold-coloured lift bail also improves underwater visibility.
